The Cheam View water system service area was established by the Fraser Valley Regional District in 1998. The system provides water to approximately 14 customer connections in the Berston Road subdivision, located in Electoral Area D. The source water for this system is groundwater from a well. There is a 113-m3 reservoir that provides storage for the system. The Cheam View water system has multimedia filtration and iron and manganese removal systems in place.
The Fraser Valley Regional District has been exploring the feasibility of integrating the three water systems in Electoral Area D, namely the West Popkum, Bridal Falls and Cheam View systems. This integration would improve low pressure zones and other problems currently faced by the individual systems, as well as improve fire protection throughout the service areas.

Emergency Response Plan
The Drinking Water Protection Regulation requires that emergency response and contingency plans are developed for each water system. These plans identify roles and responsibilities of the regional district in the event of an emergency that affects the water supply. The plans also identify contingency measures to be put in place in the event of a loss of water.
To report a water problem in your area, please call the Engineering and Environmental Services Department at 1-800-528-0061.
