FVRD Parks works to accommodate as many different park users as possible while ensuring the unique needs of each park are met and protected. Serious consideration is given to the place dogs have in our park system and have designated off-leash, on-leash and dog prohibited parks.

FVRD Parks are pleased to offer a dog off-leash area. Island 22 provides a large off-leash area for dogs to run and play with more freedom.

Several parks in the FVRD do not allow dogs, even on a leash. This is to protect wildlife, sensitive habitats and park visitors. Parks that do not allow dogs are:

-Cheam Lake Wetlands
-Neilson Regional Park

Seeing-eye dogs are an exception and are permitted in all parks. 

The remaining parks in the FVRD do permit dogs while on leash at all times.
