Since the inception in 1985 and the official opening in 1986, the members of the Hemlock Valley Volunteer Fire Department have volunteered their time and expertise to protecting and preserving the tranquil life style of the area.
Hemlock Valley is nestled in a mountain valley just west of Harrison Lake, British Columbia, Canada.
The members are committed to the safety of the community and the protection of its resident’s lives and property.
Hemlock Valley is a small community, part of the Fraser Valley Regional District, consisting of less than 100 permanent residents but can swell to several thousand on a skiing weekend.
Skiing, Boarding, hiking and relaxing is what brought most residents to the valley, and a need for a trained fire service is why the members volunteer their time and energy.
The members are trained in both Structural and Interface fire suppression and are also trained to assist the local ski resort in lift evacuation if the need arises.
