Training

Emergency Support Services (ESS) Volunteers

Training is offered for ESS volunteers on the second Friday of every month, with the exception of July, August, and December.

Volunteer Community Team Members

Rescue Canada has recently developed an online "Occupational Flood Safety Awareness" training course.

This course provides basic hazard awareness information and orientation to the student and enables them to understand the following:

  1. personal safety issues,
  2. basic personal protective equipment,
  3. basic moving water / flood dynamics,
  4. basic phases of a flood,
  5. basic flood hazards,
  6. how to safely operate in a flood zone,
  7. how to perform a basic risk assessment,
  8. how to provide basic support to others and proper decision making protocols
