SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (SUMA)

The mismanagement of the humanitarian assistance often leads to a "Secondary Disaster". This can result in the arrival of inappropriate, unsolicited supplies which without a proper logistical system to manage the relief supplies will put additional stress on an overwhelmed system. The attached slides describe a system called SUMA which is the Supply and Management system for handling relief aid SUMA.ppt

FREE ICS/NIMS COURSES ON THE WEB

Pacific Emprints from the University of Hawaii has compiled free web-based courses that are available on the web. Many of these courses are ICS 100 & ICS 200 levels. E-LEARNING COURSES ON CBRN

Two FREE courses on CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) developed by the Canadian Emergency Management College are now available on the web.

Introductory Course - Awareness About CBRN

This is designed for individuals who may be in a position to recognize a CBRN incident including but not limited to, public transit workers, mail room employees or building operators.

The intent of this course is to provide information on how to recognize potential CBRN threats, protect themselves and more.

Basic Course - First Responders

The basic course is also designed for first responders who may find themselves in a position to recognize and respond to a CBRN incident. This would include police, fire fighters, 911 operators, etc.

The intent of the basic course is to provide these individuals with training on how to recognize potential CBRN threats and incidents, protect themselves and respond in the most appropriate manner.
