The purpose of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act is to make public bodies more accountable to the public and to protect personal privacy by:
- giving the public a right of access to records, where permissible, and
- giving individuals a right of access to, and a right to request correction of, personal information about themselves;
The Act applies to all records in the custody or under the control of a public body, subject to exceptions identified in the Act. The Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) is a public body as defined in the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
Should you wish to make a request for access to records in the custody or under the control of the Fraser Valley Regional District, your request MUST be submitted in writing to the following:
