Regional Planning focuses on future growth and development within the FVRD.  In 2004, the FVRD adopted its Regional Growth Strategy Choices for our Future.  As set out in the Local Government Act "The purpose of a Regional Growth Strategy is to promote human settlement that is socially, economically and environmentally healthy and that makes efficient use of public facilities and services, land and other resources."  There are many important factors to be outlined in the FVRD's Regional Growth Strategy.
