The FVRD compiles statistics illustrating the growth and development of the region. In addition, publications are prepared in partnership with the region's municipalities or other partners. The end result is a comprehensive summary of where the FVRD has been, is at and most likely headed towards.
The Regional Snapshot Series for the Fraser Valley Regional District has been created to provide a picture of the forces which are shaping growth and change in the region today. The intent is to familiarize the public and policy makers both locally and further afield on some of the growth management issues affecting the FVRD and its member municipalities. This includes raising awareness about the region in general, especially with regard to the many successful sustainability and planning initiatives currently being undertaken at the municipal and regional levels.
New documents in the series will be added as they become available.
Projections
In 2005, Urban Futures produced a report that looked at the future changes in population, employment, housing, and land use in the FVRD and five sub-areas. These sub-areas include Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, Harrison-Kent and Hope.
The report considered the factors, trends, and processes that will shape the nature and magnitude of change that will be experienced in this area from 2003 to 2031. Below is a copy of this report in its entirety as an Adobe PDF file.
